The Cathedral city of Chichester, is one of a number of places laying testament to the rich history of West Sussex. The city is known to have had settlements dating as far back as Roman and Anglo Saxon times, and can also claim to be the site of some of the oldest places of worship in the UK. Much of the Roman Quarter, and other buildings of architectural importance, are now designated as a conservation area.

This is the place to visit if you want everything under one proverbial roof, as the attractions cover everything from arts festivals and modern shopping arcades, to nature reserves and the countryside of the Sussex Downs National Park. Nestled in between these attractions are historic houses, parks, museums, and a fully packed events schedule.

Accessible from London and the south coast channel terminals, Chichester City, and the areas of Midhurst, Petworth, Selsey and the Witterings, can provide an ideal Sussex holiday.
