Races for cancer research in Crawley raise £100,000

In the most recent races held by Cancer Research UK taking place at Tilgate Park in Crawley, the charity is reported to have raised a total of £100,000. According to reports over 2500 females, both young and old attended Wednesday’s 5km event, which was a culmination of many races organised by the charity for the Sussex area

The park had a carnival atmosphere as the participants all turned out in the charity’s signature pink and white colors, with many others attending in their best fancy dress attire. It was a fun day out for everyone as family and friends cheered on their loved ones as they tackled the course.

Many of the runners took part in memory of loved ones who had lost out to cancer whilst others did so in jubilation at winning their fight against the deadly disease. According to organizer Hannah Ford, “It was an electric atmosphere, helped by the amazing turnout. A massive thank you to the volunteers, supporters as well as participants.”

The charity hopes they have been able to raise £100,000 this time round; an amount that will help in supporting the vital cancer research they do.
