ELDERFLOWER FIELDS FESTIVAL
Elderflower Fields is an independent festival created by a small team of friends who live in the area and is set within private grounds and magical woodland of the Ashdown Forest – the perfect environment for kids and grown-ups to fully escape for the weekend. Following on from two overwhelmingly successful years, Elderflower Fields builds upon the winning formula of a festival designed especially for families with children. Most importantly it’s a fun and exciting weekend which gives kids the chance to experience a range of sports, arts, music, food and activities in the great outdoors.
All the kids’ stuff is great, but Elderflower Fields insists that parents get a chance to unwind too. They have created a safe, spacious and stimulating environment for the kids, whilst building an exciting bill of music and activities for adults plus the Woodland Spa, Cocktail Bar and Sunday family picnic.
Nigel Greenwood cofounder of SO SUSSEX the company responsible for creating this family event says: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the hundreds of positive comments and feedback received from this year’s festival goers. Their words sum up the ethos of the festival far better than we ever could and we felt inspired to do it all again and produce the best ever Elderflower Fields in 2014”.
“What sets Elderflower Fields Festival apart from all the others? The answer, quite simply, is its focus on localism. From the complimentary glass of sparkling elderflower wine which greeted guests on arrival, right through to the generous free picnic of local (gorgeous) produce which rounded off the weekend.” Anne-Marie Krolick, The Argus
“This festival was populated by happy families replete with festival cheer and zillions of small children enjoying their free-range festie-freedom.”
Anne-Marie Krolick, The Argus
“An indulgent event which goes above and beyond in hospitality while simultaneously understating the “officious” elements is a welcome reversal of recent trends.” Anne-Marie Krolick, The Argus
“It’s probably the best thing we have done together as a family, ever.”“It’s not like any other event we’ve ever been to with or without children.”
“The sports camp was brilliant for my children and with so many other activities going on over the weekend, it’s hard to fault.”
“The focus is on kids – I don’t know any other festival like that.”
“The family picnic was a brilliant idea. It was good to taste local produce and chat to people. The food was fabulous and really generous.”
“We loved the diversity of bands on the main stage, some fantastic choices.”
“My daughter fell asleep on my lap both nights listening to the music at the woodland stage.”
